  • How many trigger modes does U2815 LCR meter have?

There are 4 trigger modes on U2815: INT, MAN, EXT and DUT.

When the trigger mode is set as INT, U2815 will make sequential and repeated tests.

When the trigger mode is set as MAN, press [TRIG] once, U2815 will make one test.

When the trigger mode is set as EXT, once the HANDLER interface receives a positive impulse, U2815 will execute one measurement.

When the trigger mode is set as DUT, once the test fixture receives a component, U2815 will execute one measurement.

When the trigger mode is set as BUS, once the IEEE 488 interface receives a TRIGGER command, U2815 will execute a test. The BUS mode cannot be set on the front panel.

How can be measurement frequency set in U2815 LCR meter?

U2815 LCR meter provides two methods to set measurement frequency. The first one is to use soft keys and the other one is to input data by using numeric keys.

    1) Move the cursor to the FREQ zone, the following soft keys will be displayed.

    • INCR++
This is a coarse adjustment soft key used to increase the frequency. Press this key, the frequency will change as the following sequence: 20Hz, 100Hz, 1kHz, 10kHz, 100kHz, 200kHz.
    • INCR+
This is a fine adjustment soft key used to increase the frequency. Press this key, the frequency will switch.
    • DECR-
This is a fine adjustment soft key used to decrease the frequency. The selectable frequencies are the same as that of INCR+.
    • DECR--
This is a coarse adjustment soft key used to decrease the frequency. The selectable frequencies are the same as that of INCR++.

    2) Use soft keys or numeric keys to select or set frequency. When using numeric keys to input the required frequency value, the soft key displays the available frequency units (Hz, kHz and MHz). You can use unit soft key to input unit and data. When using [ENTER] to input frequency, the default unit is Hz.

How to select the primary measured parameter when operating AKTAKOM AMM-3320 RLC Meter?

In order to select the primary parameter when operating AKTAKOM AMM-3320 RLC Meter you need to press “FUNC” button. Each time you press "FUNC" the parameter changes in the following order: AUTO LCR (automatic selection of the value under measurement) ► L-Q (measurement of inductance and quality factor) ►C-D (measurement of capacity and dissipation factor) ►R (resistance measurement) ►DCR (DC resistance measurement).

L/C/R values can be positive and negative. If in C-D mode the primary parameter has "-" sign then the element should be measured in inductance mode. If in L-Q mode the primary parameter has "-" sign then the element should be measured in capacity mode. If in R mode the primary parameter is negative then this means calibration error and it is necessary to re-calibrate AMM-3320 RLC meter.

How to select the secondary measured parameter when operating AKTAKOM AMM-3320 RLC Meter?

In order to select the secondary parameter when operating AKTAKOM AMM-3320 RLC Meter you need to press “D/Q/ESR” button. Each time you press the button the parameter changes in the following order: D (dissipation factor) ► Q (quality factor) ► θ (phase angle) ► ESR (equivalent series resistance)

What is the purpose of AutoLCR mode in AKTAKOM AMM-3320 RLC Meter?

AutoLCR mode is used in AKTAKOM AMM-3320 RLC meter for automatic selection of the primary and secondary parameters for L, C, R modes and it is activated on default. Selection is made in accordance with the test result. This function makes it convenient to take measurements of different-type or unknown elements.

    Condition Primary parameter Secondary parameter
lθl<-11° Capacity (C) Dissipation factor (D) (if C<5pF the secondary parameter is Rp)
    lθl>11° Inductance (L) Quality factor (Q)
    lθl<11° Resistance (R) Phase angle (θ)

Please explain more about "rdg" in the inductance specification table

The accuracy of a digital tester is defined as the difference between the reading and the true value for a quantity measured in reference conditions. Accuracy is specified in the format: (±xx% rdg ±xx dgt).

The first portion identifies a percentage error relative to the reading, which means it is proportional to the input. The second portion is an error, in digits, that is constant regardless of the input. "Rdg"is for reading and "dgt"is for digits. Dgt indicates the counts on the last significant digit of the digital display and is typically used to represent an error factor of a digital tester.

    AutoPowerOff disabling

To save the battery charge the device is provided with activated Auto power off function (APO).

In approximately 15 min. of inactivity there comes a warning signal, in one more minute the present function switches the device off. Pressing any key or turning the measuring function selecting knob leads to the device on-status.

To disable APO mode press and hold REL key, APO indicator will disappear from the screen. To enable APO mode again press and hold REL key.

Note: APO function is automatically switched off changing in MIN/MAX mode.
