3 phase calculator

3 phase calculator is an easy-to-use online tool to quickly determine the parameters of balanced three-phase circuits in both Delta and Star configurations. A balanced 3-phase circuit has the same voltages, currents, and power factors in all three phases.

This tool uses the following equations to determine voltages and currents for Star connection:

Vline = √3 × Vph
Iline = Iph

This tool uses the following equations to determine voltages and currents for Delta connection:

Vline = √3 × Vph
Iline = Iph

The apparent power (S) for both delta and star connections can be calculated using the following formulas:

S = 3 × Vph × Iph,
S = √3 × Vline × Iline

The active power (P) in both star and delta connections can be calculated using the following formulas:

P = S × PF
P = 3 × Vph × Iph × PF
P = √3 × Vline × Iline × PF

where: PF (power factor) = cos φ. φ is the phase angle (PA) – the angle of lead or angle of lag of the current's phase with respect to the voltage's phase.

The reactive power (Q) for both delta and star connections can be calculated using the following formulas:

Q = S × sin φ
Q = 3 × Vph × Iph × sin φ
√3 × Vline × Iline × sin φ
