Electronic loadElectronic load is an electronic device designed to simulate different operating modes of load while testing power supplies. Electronic load contains stabilizer, current flow and voltage tester as well as a number of other ancillary units. The stabilizer provides various operating modes of the load (current stabilization (CC), voltage stabilization (CV), power stabilization (CW) or resistance stabilization (CR)). Voltage and current testers are used to determine the actual current, voltage, power and resistance respectively. These values can be displayed or transmitted to the control device. The main application of electronic loads is the test of secondary and (partly) primary power supplies. The use of an ordinary resistor as load is very limited. Low-power resistor has very limited dissipation power. At the same time the resistance is obviously very dependent on temperature that does not allow making accurate measurements. Powerful resistor which is made of many coils of high-resistance wires has unnormalized inductance that also limits the possibility of testing. In addition, the power supply can not be tested in the limiting mode of current, voltage etc. Also different dynamic testing modes are not possible. Electronic loads are considered the most suitable exactly for full testing of power supplies. Electronic Loads are capable of emulating operation in different modes, they allow taking measurements of all necessary parameters. Due to their programming capabilities, they can work in a predetermined manner, change one mode for another, they can be controlled and programmed through PC as well as perform many other functions. |
