TI invites to join webinar “How to reduce software dependency in automotive applications using smart DACs”

07/25/2024

DC-link capacitor is a part of every traction inverter system and is used to smooth out voltage ripples, filter unwanted harmonics and reduce overall noise. To provide functional safety, the DC-Link capacitor must be discharged, and due to safety concerns, most of the time must be discharge independently from a MCU or software. While a completely discrete solution is predominantly used, it lacks programmability of a software solution.

In this webinar TI will introduce its new family of smart DAC and AFE devices designed to integrate discrete implementation and also add programmability and intelligence without adding any software for a DC-link capacitor discharge. Come and learn how to use TI`s new product portfolio of smart DACs to offload the software in traction inverter capacitive link discharge and automotive lighting and diagnostics applications.

During this session, you will discuss:

  • What is a smart DAC and AFE and how does it reduce software dependency
  • How to design a capacitive discharge system using a smart DAC/AFE
  • Benefits and comparison between smart DAC/AFE solution and MCU or fully discrete solution.

The webinar will be held on August 01, 2024.
