Keysight and MediaTek Verify Modem Technology Support for IoT and 5G over Non-Terrestrial Networks

Keysight Technologies, Inc. and MediaTek have collaborated to verify that MediaTek's 5G modem technology supports 5G New Radio (NR) and internet of things (IoT) technologies based on the 3rd Generation Partnership Project's (3GPP) Release 17 (Rel-17) standards for non-terrestrial networks (NTN).

NTNs deliver secure, reliable, and high-bandwidth connectivity to remote areas that do not have terrestrial network coverage using satellites or high-altitude platforms. Ensuring that devices support 5G NR and IoT standards is a critical step to building NTNs to deliver ubiquitous mobile connectivity to businesses and individuals in rural areas.
