To meet consumer demand for ever faster data downloads, from live streaming videos to global videoconferences, Tektronix, Inc. announced three new testing solutions to help drive the future of data transfers.

Rohde & Schwarz continues to expand its range of basic power supplies with the new R&S NGA100 series. The R&S NGA100 is available in four models, providing a choice of single and dual outputs with up to 35 V/6 A per output, or 100 V/2 A per output. Single output models supply up to 40 W, dual output models up to 80 W power. The dual model outputs can be combined to provide up to 200 V or 12 A.

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced the signing of an agreement with NTT DOCOMO, INC. (DOCOMO) to jointly undertake a proof of concept test (PoC) for the remote control of a plant system by utilizing 5th generation mobile communications (5G), the cloud, AI, and other technologies.

The level of integration of 5G base stations in the FR1 frequency range is increasing, as a new generation of base stations, designated the 1-O type, is becoming more and more common. The 1-O type base stations operate at FR1 frequency range and they have antenna arrays with integrated transceivers, without any access to internal RF ports. This requires all conformance and production testing to be performed over-the-air (OTA). However, OTA testing can be technically challenging.

Anritsu Corporation is pleased to announce that its Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A successfully achieved a downlink (DL) throughput over 7 Gbps using FR1+FR2 Dual Connectivity (DC) technology and 256-QAM modulation in 5G Standalone (SA) mode, in conjunction with MediaTek’s latest M80 5G modem. Yokogawa Test & Measurement Corporation announces that it has developed the 760903 current sensor element for use with the company’s world-class power measurement solution, the WT5000 precision power analyzer. The 760903 current sensor element includes a number of new features that simplify the setup and use of external current sensors.

Most of the requirements for higher data rates stem from sensors like cameras around the car, 5G Telematic units (TCUs) and networking backbones for multiple domain controllers. MultiGBASE-T1 Ethernet standard meets these needs by including 2.5G, 5G and 10G speeds. Compared to 1000BASE-T1, MultiGBASE-T1 uses PAM4 (4 levels) modulation with symbol rates of 1.4, 2.8 and 5.6 GHz. The Open Alliance TC15 PMA compliance test specification addressing this standard is still in a draft state.
