The voltage of electric eels

An electric eel can kill with current with voltage of 500 V for self-defense or while hunting.

It is known that some types of fish can emit electrical discharges. Electric eels use short electric shocks to drive prey out of hiding. After that they deliver longer blows paralyzing the victim from a distance.

When electric eels attack their prey, they emit a volley of electrical impulses - up to 400 per second. This is a dangerous and formidable natural stun gun.
